So maybe this is a little out-dated, now that we have our sites, but if anyone has been looking at food production/meat packing along the corridor for the data wall, take a look at this article from the New York Times. It's not about Alameda specifically, but about meat consumption in general, a little about land use and the relationship between cities and food production. Lot's of interesting and relevant stats and a very clear argument for the energy=waste theme. Plus, I couldn't resist being a preachy vegetarian just this one time.
